Iā€™m a storyteller, an optimiser of creative businesses and a facilitator of progress.

At the heart of what has always driven me is my endless fascination with humans and storytelling. First, as an actor, then as a director/producer/business owner. But over the course of two decades working in the screen industry, I became increasingly aware of the norms, culture and leadership practices that do not serve us. I call it the invisible %. The seemingly unquantifiable percentage of time, money and creativity that gets lost as a result, which I know can be significant.

Wanting to go deeper, I completed an Executive MBA where I quickly gravitated towards leadership, culture and navigating change. I also began working with organisations, primarily in the creative industries, to help them make sense of their culture and strategic challenges, while co-designing solutions to address them. In other words, I learnt the skills I needed to fix the stuff that was causing the invisible %.

In 2022, I teamed up with Screen Well and the University of Melbourne on a research project designed to explore how leadership and culture impacts wellbeing and the creative output of the screen industry, which will be released in March 2024. This was driven by my desire to quantify the unquantifiable.

My background has formed the foundation for the services I offer. I also work as an advisor and senior consultant at Screen Well and continue to run Venn out of our offices at the Abbotsford Convent, where we help organisations achieve their desired impact through the stories they tell. We do this by marrying high-quality strategic thinking and cinematic storytelling to produce stories that have impact (which of course, really comes alive in the form of a Venn diagram).
